CIVIL WAR (1961) - display box artwork by Bob Powell. Note: This box shows the actual title is "CIVIL WAR" although the set is commonly referred to as "Civil War News" because descriptions on the back of each card are presented in a newspaper format. All cards were painted by Norman Saunders and Maurice Blumenfeld and Bob Powell.

 

 

FLAG MIDGEES (1961) - display box artwork by Jack Davis. Note: This is a set of 99 small cards, composed of 33 strips, with 3 cards on each perfortated strip. Each package contained four strips, for a total of 12 cards. All cards were painted by Norman Saunders and Maurice Blumenfeld.

 

 

MARS ATTACKS (1962) - artwork by Norman Saunders. This is the original preliminary design for the display box, which defines most elements of the final published version. Note: This is the earliest known example of the legendary graphic font of "MARS ATTACKS!" with white drippy lettering hand-painted by Norman Saunders.
