This is one of only five covers Saunders painted for this title, and it is one of his most sensational pulps. This image is a direct precursor to the infamous Mars Attacks cards. The art director at Topps Bubblegum Company in 1962 was Woody Gelman. Woody was also a pulp magazine collector. He hired Norm to paint the Martian invasion series for Topps because of his admiration for this cover.
