This is one of only five covers Saunders painted for this title, and it is one of his most sensational. This painting is a direct precursor to the infamous "Mars Attacks!" cards. The art director at Topps in 1962 was Woody Gelman, who was also a passionate pulp magazine collector. Woody hired Norm to do the Martian invasion series because of his admiration for this cover.
